Since 2005 Firemass Metal Co. (Irons Eye Design), based in Salt Lake City, Utah, has been a dedicated fabrication shop specializing in artistic metal design. Building anything from basic railings, fencing, wood/metal furniture to full scale ornamental iron projects. Our designs and builds are influenced by creative, artistic simplicity and quality. Our ultimate goal is to purvey a product, or a service, that will surpass our clients expectations. We passionately believe in supporting local small businesses and doing our part in preserving the environment.  We work environmentally efficient, recycle and use American made products whenever possible.

 

Over the past few years, Firemass has had some unique and amazing opportunities.  The most recent in 2018, was the opportunity to fabricate the majority of a massive steal "colosseum" for a show on NBC titled "The Titan Games", hosted by The Rock, Dwayne Johnson.  In 2015 Discovery Channel featured the Firemass crew in a series titled "Epic Man Cave Builds"  which was based on our small business.  It's been a crazy ride but we are humbly grateful for every opportunity we have had to build our business into what it is today.

Brandon Ruff, owner/designer, was born and raised in Utah and spent close to two decades professionally snowboarding around the world and in the Utah backcountry.  Having free time away from snowboarding during the summer months, Brandon's obsession with Classic Cars evolved into the exploration of fabrication and welding. By the end of 2005 his interest in fabrication became so intense that he decided to quit professionally snowboarding to focus on starting a metal fabrication business with his wife and business partner, Melissa.  Melissa's background has enabled her to manage and efficiently run Firemass, freeing up Brandon's time to do what he does best - create. Brandon and Melissa's commitment to their personal philosophy regarding integrity, work ethic, honesty and hard work has been pivotal in their success.
